OUR POLICIES & FAQs
-
Registration Fee—An annual, non-refundable registration fee is required for proper enrollment along with registration into a specific class via our online system. Registration and enrollment are not considered complete until this fee and the first month's tuition are paid in full. The Fall/Spring registration fee is $30 per dancer or a maximum of $50 per family. This fee will be paid once per school season and is non-refundable.
-

-
Insurance—JorDance DOES NOT carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family's insurance policies and if injury occurs, it is understood that the student's own policy is your only source of reimbursement.
-
Drop Off/Pick Up – Parents of dancers ages 2-11 may enter the lobby for drop off, and may stay through the duration of class. Our older dancers can enter the lobby and find their classroom on their own. Please be mindful to keep space available in the lobby for parents of dancers 2-6! Upon arrival dancers and parents may check in with the front desk for directions, or head directly to their classroom. We take attendance inside the classroom at the beginning of class. After class students should be picked up promptly. Please have a conversation with your younger dancers about your pick up plan. We monitor our 3-6 year olds until pick up, but our teachers will need to start their next class and may need for them to sit with our front desk staff if a parent has not come into the building. Please discuss your plan with your dancers 7+, prepping them to either wait in the lobby until you walk in, or giving them permission to walk out to your car.
-
Lobby: A parent or guardian is welcome to accompany our younger dancers ages 2-11 into the lobby. Parents of this age group can stay or leave during class as long as they dancer is able to use the restroom on their own. Parents should not enter the classroom spaces during class time, but may watch from our lobby areas throughout the building. If you need to communicate with your dancer you can work with our front desk staff, or catch them on a water break. Each of our four classrooms have a glass door for viewing. This will always be available for parents to check on their dancers. Our other window curtains remain closed most weeks to make sure our younger students can focus on what is happening in the classroom.
-
Restrooms: Our staff will monitor our preschool & beginner dancers walking to the restroom, but will not go inside of the stall with the dancer. Potty help or accidents are the parent's responsibility. Please plan to stay in the lobby during class if your dancer is prone to accidents or needs assistance in the restroom.
-
Bad Weather—The studio will not necessarily close for all snow or rain days. We will email any cancellations or closures to the email listed in your parent portal account. If in doubt, check our Facebook and Instagram pages for the most recent updates on closures. If we close the studio due to bad weather, you may make-up any days missed during a comparable class.
-
Holidays— Holiday dates will always be posted in our monthly newsletters and on the studio website. We follow the RRISD schedule for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break closures. We are only closed on MAJOR HOLIDAYS. We DO NOT CLOSE for local school district Staff Development Days. We do not prorate for holidays as tuition for the season is divided into equal monthly payments. Our studio schedule is available online.
-
Attendance—Attendance will be taken at each class. Regular attendance is imperative as absences and tardiness can hold back an entire class and recital choreography progress. Please make every effort to have your child at every class. You may make up any days missed due to an illness, but only during the same month. Students may make up their classes in a comparable class for their age group. During the final month of classes, there will be no make up classes due to classes practicing for their recital pieces - attendance is especially important as we prepare for the show. Make ups must be completed by the end of the session. They will not roll over into the next session. There are NO refunds, credits, or prorated tuition for missed lessons. If you are registered, you are responsible for the full monthly tuition payment.
-
Recital—Students work hard all year and our annual spring recital is their big opportunity to exhibit their hard work. The Spring Recital typically falls in May or the First Weekend of June. We will sell tickets online for friends and family to attend. Please look out for our tentative dates and plan your vacations accordingly. We will send save the date information as soon as we are allowed to book a venue.
-
Spring Recital Fee—There is a non-refundable $30 Spring Recital Fee that is due by November 1. The recital fee is due for each individual dancer, and is separate from your costume fee and goes to pay rental of the auditorium, insurance, props, backdrops, paying sound and lighting technicians, etc. Each family will receive access to the recital video link as a part of the participation fee. Recital participation is highly encouraged.
-
Costume Fees— Each dancer is responsible for a costume fee on February 1st. Students will be measured in November or at the time of enrollment after November. It takes several months for the costumes to be made and shipped to the studio. Costumes will cost between $68 and $100 per class. Dancers enrolled in combination classes may have multiple costumes per class. Dancers enrolled in multiple classes will have recital costumes for each class. The costume fee is not refundable once the costume(s) has been ordered. Exchanges are not guaranteed as costume companies may not be able to fulfill any size exchanges in time for the show. Alternative costs, including alterations, are your responsibility. There are no costumes or costume fees for the Holiday Show-Off Week performance.
-
Withdrawals—Any student who drops out of the program MUST GIVE 30-DAY WRITTEN NOTICE TO THE OFFICE in writing. Should you decide to end participation in the JorDance, LLC program and discontinue this transaction, please submit notice by e-mail to jordancetx@gmail.com. No other communication channels (including verbal communication, social media, or SMS texting) are a valid form of requesting cancellation. Payments are final and there are no refunds on fees paid for cancellation. I agree that I will be liable for dues for equal monthly tuition installments for the current season unless my membership contract is terminated in writing 30 days prior to the start of a new billing cycle.
-
Additionally, in the event of cancellation, all recital fees, costumes and costume fees, and contest fees are forfeited and are all non-refundable.
-
